Background

UMC ServiceMaster Sdn Bhd was founded in 1989 by United Engineers Limited group of Companies (UEL) as the regional licensee for The ServiceMaster Company, USA.

Malaysia Office

In 1997, UMC ServiceMaster Sdn Bhd commenced operations in Malaysia with the provision of support services to nine government hospitals under the Ministry of Health privatization of non-clinical services. UMC ServiceMaster Sdn Bhd provided Plant Operations and Maintenance, Clinical Equipment Maintenance, Housekeeping, Laundry and Clinical Waste Management across East and West Malaysia.

Joint Venture

In 2005, UEL divested a 30% share of its stake in four subsidiaries of UMC ServiceMaster group to Mitsui & Co. Ltd Group (Mitsui). Together the parties have formed a 70/30 joint venture company, UE Managed Solutions Pte. Ltd. With this strategic business alliance, UMC ServiceMaster Sdn Bhd is positioned to leverage on the UEL and Mitsui corporate strengths to provide top quality and innovative solutions to customers in Malaysia.
